Mobile Computing
Our major new initiative with Eclipse-fm® for 2008 has to be the release of the Mobile Task Management (MTM) system, potentially freeing facilities staff from the need to return to base to pick up task details.
With lots of interest being shown in MTM, 2008 should provide plenty of innovation as the impact of this begins to emerge in real day to day usage

Welcome to the last Eclipse-fm®
e-Newsletter of the year.
The Autumn has seen a lot of development work coming close to fruition and this has been accompanied by our participation in a spate of exhibitions around the country.
In respect of the new developments, rather than overwhelm you with too much to read this close to the festive season, we will be sending out a more detailed newsletter early in the New Year. However, to whet your appetite, we can let you know that developments will include
- The launch of Eclipse-fm® version 3 which in addition to increased and improved functionality in both Task and Asset Management, Web Eclipse has been made even faster when raising new tickets.
- The introduction of Eclipse-fm® Mobile Task Management for PDAs and "SmartPhones". This will enable your trades staff to collect and manage tasks remotely thereby improving efficiency and reducing costs.
- Integration of our Dynamic AI Business Intelligence tool into Eclipse-fm® which will allow trust management to collate report and display information from across many different data sources. For example the creation of reports combining Estates, Financial and HR data is dramatically simplified.
- A solution to the perennial problem of handling the large quantity of documents and drawings that exist in any Trust. We are incorporating a document and drawing management system called Trix into Eclipse-fm®. Encouragingly, this system is already in use in the Swedish health service in their Facilities Management area.

As well as supporting both the Healthcare Facilities Conference - we attended the Health Facilities Scotland Show for the first time. At both of these conferences Eclipse-fm® featured our new Mobile Devices module, due to release before year end, which allows Facilities Management Staff to acquire job details in the field without returning to the office. This generated a lot of interest at both of these shows, and details of this are in this newsletter.
We already have several NHS trusts lined up to take this new module which is driven by a combination of the Visual DataFlex. Web Application Server and Momote's "MX Platform" that delivers the application to a wide range of wireless devices such as PDAs and pocket PCs .
For 2008 we are considering a different and more informal approach to presenting the growing Eclipse-fm® family. This would involve a number of regional involving regional, interactive, hands on meetings where we will replace much of the usual "death by Powerpoint" approach in favour of a more hands on exploration of the capabilities and above all, benefits of the Eclipse-fm® family.
We would like to do this in conjunction NHS Trusts as venues, so could offer a suitable location, we would like to hear from you!
