For reasons ranging from security of access to tailoring the working environment, you need to be able to control what elements of the system individual users can access.
All modules and views within the Eclipse-fm® system are controlled by a commmon security system. This allows for controlling access - Full Access, Read Only Access or No Access, usually to modules of the application, but in some cases right down to individual Tabs within a data entry view.
Access is controlled through the User login, and the system is very flexible. Users are allocated to groups (and may be allocated to multiple groups), but with the option to define an individual user as having access to additional modules to those implied by their group derived permissions.
The resulting access profile for any particular user is the sum of all accesses allowed by each group listed plus any individually listed module or view access.

Module/View access control provides the potential for the close targeting of individual users to specific types of work, reducing the perceived extent of the complete system to one that is comfortably targeted at their day to day work.
Such control goes far to eliminate accidental errors or misguided data entry, by eliminating access to key areas, such as Financial Control, by staff who may not be familiar with these.
Module and View access control also allows for certain staff to be defined as "Authorisors", particularly in the area of Purchase Requisitions and Orders, allowing a controlled workflow to be created to deal with these.
