The Eclipse-fm® Task Helpdesk View allows you to create new tasks in response to telephone calls or emails reporting equipment defects or tasks such as portering which are not asset related. Helpdesk staff use this view to create new tasks in response to ad hoc requests for maintenance, and/or ad-hoc scheduling of any type of task.
Using the system of pre-defined task templates creation of a task can require no more than three mouse clicks to establish what it is and where it is. Even without a task template, a simple task only needs the three elements of What, Where, and Who reported it.
Later, detailed information for the complete life-cycle of each task is available, showing every event which has occurred with the Task, from creation through printing, issuing and then for each maintenance event right through to completion. Each event is individually logged with date, time and the person making the record.

Also available - as opposite - is an at-a-glance analysis of time taken at each stage and costings for the Task. These statistics are the basis for extensive management Reporting on maintenance performance.
Others who use the system may be excluded from the full Helpdesk management (see User ID Security), while still having access to task Creation.
Non system users who yet need to communicate needs to the Helpdesk may use the Web Module to create Maintenance Requests as an alternative to telephoning or emailing.
Task List
Fully colour coded, the Task List View shows a list of all Tasks, whether ad-hoc, PPM tasks, or entered via he Web Eclipse module. It can be set to show Tasks at any status from Created to Complete or (by default) all Tasks currently outstanding.

The colour-coding allows you to see immediately which tasks are overdue or will become overdue shortly. This gives you "at a glance" visibility of the overall performance of your FM Department.
Tasks created from Web Eclipse automatically appear in this list, eliminating the need for Helpdesk staff to transcribe emails or voice messages. These tasks are ready to schedule, with no more than the possible need to add some comment as to the carrying out of the task.
