Why do we need Staff Details?

Eclipse-fm®  is much more than "just" a task organiser. Eclipse-fm® positively works with you to ensure that your staff can not only carry out tasks effectively and within the time allowed, but also

  • within the necessary skills required for particular specialist tasks. If you should ever get into a situation where you need documentary evidence of such "best practice", Eclipse-fm® will always be able to produce it for you.
  • with access to only those modules needed for their particular role
  • with acces to only data that is relevant to their role

Job Tasking and Qualifications
Eclipse-fm® enables you to associate task requests with a particular staff member or group of staff members. In addition, certain tasks must only be carried out by, or under the responsibility of, someone who is qualified to do so.

The Qualifications Management Provisions of Eclipse-fm® allow you to record the qualifications that may be involved and link these to your Staff, and to the Equipment that your staff will maintain or in some cases, operate.

The Module Access settings allow you to define what aspects of the system staff members, either as individuals or as members of groups are allowed to access

The Data Visibility settings provide for restricting the data available to match the job role, or location in the oirganisation, of the staff member.

Who are the Eclipse-fm® Users?
All trust staff are potential users of Eclipse-fm® though in practice most users will be part of the FM department. However, with a wealth of management information available that overlaps into areas of finance and strategic planning, non FM management may well benefit from access to some aspects of the system.

Providing access to ward staff should also be considered, as this provides a “self service” capability for raising routine, ad-hoc maintenance requests directly within the Eclipse-fm® Helpdesk without the need to wait on personal contact via the telephone, or needing transcription from email. This considerably reduces the workload for FM staff in handling ad-hoc helpdesk requests.

While this may be done via full Eclipse-fm® access, the Eclipse-fm® Web Module is specifically designed to allow for easy and rapid maintenance request generation and subsequent tracking of task progress.

Users of the Web module are not included in the Windows desktop usage license count, so this is an economical way of allowing all staff to participate in the FM process.
